Communion
A Communion service is the name we give to the sharing of bread and wine. In some churches this may be called a Eucharist or Sacrament service.
This is a time when we remember the sacrifice Jesus made for us all by dying on the cross. We eat a piece of bread and drink some wine in remembrance of Jesus as we are instructed to do in the words of Jesus as he ate his last meal with the disciples.
While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”

A communion service takes place around once a month on a Sunday morning.It is our usual custom for bread and wine to be distributed at the front of the church and those wishing to take part come to the front in turn. You are welcome to remain seated if you would rather not receive bread and wine.
The bread and wine are offered freely to anyone who has accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into their hearts. You do not need to be a member of our church, or any other, to receive the sacraments.
