14th June breathe

We just wanted to let you know that it is breathe this coming Sunday.

If you’ve not been before breathe is a quiet reflective place for busy (sometimes stressed out and tired) people to find a moment to be still and think about what is important. We use plenty silence, peaceful music- listened to or sung, video and image, ritual and art installation, all based around the stories of Jesus and the community that his life has shaped.
Our reflections this month are on ‘weather’ as a verb rather than a forecast. We each bear the marks of the places we have been and the things which have happened to us. Sometimes good, sometimes a struggle, yet all part of what has shaped us. As we look at weathered objects we see beauty and story but sometimes when we look at ourselves we struggle to see the same things. At this breathe we will begin to think about those things that have made us who we are and see that there might be, now or maybe one day, beauty is our weathering.

It all happens in the hall of St Ives Methodist church, so please use the side entrance to the church as the front door is locked. It starts at 7.30pm and last about an hour and there is plenty of tea, coffee and cake afterwards if you can stay.
